They added the mouse over function on the main forum pages.

but it just repeats the title... :facepalm:

they have no friggin clue what they are doing messedup0
 
They may be adding the functionality in steps. In a week or so, that forum could be pretty slick. If not, you have plenty of viable alternatives. Remember to breath. :)

As a webdesign and administrative novice myself I am sympathetic with their plight. :embarrassed:

Actually, if they had just done all this stuff first I don't think there would have been any problem with 90% of the membership.

I've gotten quite an education on the process watching the vBulletin forum. They fix one thing and it causes something else to break. It seems like a long process...
 
Actually here is a great example of why the HC2.0 debacle isn't an anomaly (from the vBulletin user forum about the update I have not installed yet on this forum):

I am beyond steamed at this point. It's painfully obvious there is no real vision or direction in IB when it comes to this software. We're told 4.1 will be released in 2011. And at the same time, we're also told that you haven't decided what's going to be included in the product. Bloody hell! If you're looking at a 2011 release date for 4.1, the foundation of the code should already be set in stone with a firm roadmap/timeline in place detailing the milestones leading up to the release date. If you haven't even decided what's going to go into the product, we're not going to see a finalized version that works until 2012! And with what we've seen with 4.0, I'm not even sure we'll get a decent product in 2012!

When are you going to pull your collective heads from your backsides and actually deliver something to us when you say you're going to do it? Mad? I'm bloody furious! I can't imagine a company would be so bloody incompetent to break promise after promise and still expect the users to sit back and take it. I don't know what the hell you folks are smoking down there, but please... Pass some this way so we can zone out into the same fantasy land you obviously have been occupying for the past year. Unfreakingbelievable.

I have a suggestion. Carve out a portion of the team for bug fixes and concentrate on that. The rest of the developers should sit down, scrap every ounce of code that is in 4.0 and start over. Redesign it from the ground up. Give us that innovation we were promised last year. THAT I could live with, knowing we would actually be getting something new and exciting to work with. But now? Unless things change in an awful hurry, I'll be recommending a different package when it comes time for the owner to pull out his wallet again.

you guys aren't telling me anything new. i am a C programmer in my day job...

what i think is hilarious is their mouse over just repeats the title. they seriously couldn't think that people were asking for that :messedup:

You said you wanted mouse over not that you wanted it to preview the body of the message.:eek::lol:

that is the current state of my HC20 extension project's thread preview system... seems you can do something with some chicken shit

How would we use your preview system? Do we have to install a plug in or is it something that loads with the site?
 
you have to install two firefox extensions...

greasmonkey and stylish...

then there is a userscript for greasemonkey that you install and a userstyle for stylish... they work in conjunction with each other to make the changes.

I expect to go into public beta with it tomorrow assuming they fix the sticky thread clusterfuck thats going on now so i can do final testing.
