Had two sell two of my favorites tonight...

My company has a very generous insurance policy but even with it, I paid a $4,000 medical bill. So many complications came with having the twins. As of now, we hit our max out of pocket but i don't know if we have received all the bills.

That being said, I've had to put up some guitars for sale. A few weeks ago, someone from the music man forums offered me an awesome amount for two guitars(slightly more than market value). I agreed to the sale today.

I'll be shipping out my purple sparkle albert Lee and me prized Bali burst luke iii. At the end of the day, I've had to sell gear before to pay for bills. And it's always bittersweet. But it's better than being in debt

That sucks, but sometimes you have to do that kind of stuff.

Insurance companies suck. The amount of money I send out for medical bills is astounding, and I have what people consider good coverage.

You made me realize what a huge bullet we dodged with our twins being born in Mumbai. We probably spent less on IVF, paying the surrogate, and the birth than just the birth bills would have been in the USA.

I've been there myself (having to sell guitars to pay bills). My Fender Jaguar I bought in March of this year is technically a buy-back, due to the fact that I had to sell it in early 2013, to generate some cash to pay bills. Good Luck. I hope you're over the hump with regards to the medical bills.

being Canadian it always seems weird when Americans tell their stories like this. It seems to me that even if you have good insurance your only one step away from poverty if you have a serious illness. But on the bright when the money is rolling again you'll get to go shopping which is always fun.
