#1 on my list would be my old Kramer AeroStar.
I have a pic somewhere in the house, I'll see if I can find it.
very simple deal...bridge HB, volume knob
if it'd had a Floyd, it would have been perfect for me at the time (was playing lead in a speedmetal band)
I used to do designs on it with Crayola poster paints, and changed the design from gig to gig
the paint wiped off with a damp sponge (or beer/sweat)

#2 is kinda weird...
was a Series A knockoff of a Gibson Flying V.
did a star-scape kinda paintjob on it.
played like a dream
I'd put some new pup into the bridge position, though I no longer recall what it was.
sold it to my boss's son in the late 80's, iirc.

#3 was also a weird one.
don't recall the brand, maybe Vibra...?
anyways, was like a 335 kinda deal.
cheapie again, but played nice enough.
the pups were VERY mean on it though, so it worked great for the punk stuff I was playing at thte time.
probably not so good for jazz or what-have-you :lol:

I set that one on fire in my buddy's dad's garage during a party.
stupid me.

#4 isn't so much that the guitar was nice, but...

it was some LP knockoff, white...that I'd covered in cutouts from old Spider-Man comics.
the thing played like a moose, but damn, it looked fuckin' cool.
it'd be hangin' on the wall right now.
but I swapped it to someone, and they absolutely destroyed it.
drove nails through it, painted the underside of their genitals, and pressed them against the body...just horrific.
I ended up in a band with that guy for a long time
 
i have posted "the list" before.....but i'll just give you the highlights. keep in mind, these were bought and sold back in the mid 1970's...BEFORE prices went into the stratosphere.

The only one that was really unreplacable was my Kramer Night Swan. I have never seen another one in blue metallic flake or one I could afford when it was available.
 
1982 Ibanez Artist AR300 - Best LP type guitar I have ever owned.

Custom made Paragon Acoustic - a one off from a one man shop built my my exact specs. One of the best acoustic guitars I have ever played.
 
These are my main regrets:

61 SG-LP. Had it from around 1979 to 81. Sold it to buy an acoustic. I paid $300 for it and sold it for about the same. It had replaced tuners(Grovers) and a Leo Quann Bad-Ass wrap around bridge. The intonation on the low E was always a little wonky, could never get the saddle back far enough. This was before I knew anything about set up or repairs and I was a poor college student and couldn't afford professional lutherie. God only knows what it would be worth now.

51 ES125. Owned this one from around 95 to 04. Paid $350 for it I think. All original, in good shape other than the shrinking tuner buttons. Even had the original beat-up cardboard faux alligator hide case and original 1951 price tag. Sold it for $800 to finance some other gas. I never played it out cause I was afraid of damaging it, so I just went ahead and took my profit on it. I sure miss that P90 in that thing.

90s era Ric 4001 Bass. In Fireglo. Kept this one from 97 to around 03. to Paid $600, sold it for $700 I think. Best playing bass I've ever owned. I got this country gig and I couldn't get a satisfactory thump out of it. I shoulda tried some flat wounds. I still miss that fast Ric neck. Played like a guitar.
 
I never get rid of anything. My first guitar was stolen when I was a kid, I have the rest (though it isn't that many)
 
The first Fender Lead II I bought when I was in college. Best guitar I have ever owned, there was just something about that one. I have probably bought 5 since I sold that one and none were even close to as good as the first one.
 
God, so many. Mostly the Squier strat that was freaking amazing, but I didn't appreciate it because it wasn't "metal", which is what I was into back then. Miss my metallic forest green Charvel 475 quite a bit too.
 
Dean Evo.

Not the guitar so much, it was a very good guitar, not great. I miss the pickups. The mystery bridge pup, and the neck JB pup. Not a bridge JB, an actual neck pup, that was a JB. Pups came out of a Washburn HB35. Pulled them as soon as I bought the guitar, and put BG Lizzards in it. Pups sat for a couple of years, I bought the Dean, and threw them in there. The neck pup split was pure sex. I loved, loved, loved it. I sold the guitar to my nephew, figured it was OK, since it was still in the family. Told him if he ever decides to get rid of it, he HAS to sell it back to me.

Unfortunatly, nephew is an idiot. They played the state fair. Then, after, they went bar hopping, and left a Rhoads keyboard, his Dad's Les Paul, and the Dean in the car. All gone now.
 
I don't really miss any guitars that I've sold. I've kept the ones that are important to me.


I do regret selling my original Marshall 100 watt silver jubilee head (bought new at GC when I was 17) and my 1974 super reverb.
 
A black Fernandes Strat that was the first electric guitar I bought new (when I was 17 or 18). I sold it about 15 years ago. Come to think of it, it's the only electric I ever bought new.

I'll never get that actual guitar back, but I'm in the process of trying to replace it with an exact same one (harder than you might think, since they didn't make too many of that exact model, and pretty much all of the ones they DID make seem to have stayed in Japan).

Which model, exactly?

My Frankenstein USED TO BE a black LE-2, which was basically their '62RI.
