GPOTD Guitar Pic of the Day - 1.31.11

When you say slide guitar, are you typing traditional,
or are you into waving slides and other objects across the fifth fret until it starts a frequency resonance,
moving them up and down the neck, like Pink Floyd in "Meddle", offa "Echoes", kinda psychedelic?

i hear that all the time, but i don't see how they're any better than Grover, Gotoh, or Hipshot.

I don't know how they could be better, but I doubt they'd be worse either. They would certainly be lighter, I'd think.

What I'm getting at is that replacing them shouldn't be necessary.

yeah, there's a serious problem if they need to be replaced.

I kind of like it, but the three bolt neck joint and open tuners kind of give me some pause. Why would someone want to add these features of the bygone era to an expensive guitar? I know Waverly tuners are supposed to be really great, but I alway worry about case/gigbag fuzz and dirt getting in there.

Non-ajustable tuners just won't last. Why pay this much when you will have to change original parts?
Of course, that's if you're looking at this as an investment,
or just like to sniff around.
Why cheap out with three neck screws, or whatever they are?

they're ugly.
