As much as I like the Tele look, that doesn't cut it for me. I think the headstock shape, color, and the angled pickup are contributing factors.
 
Not my favorite color, but those ASATs are awesome playing and sounding guitars. And a mahogany body Teles are few and far between.

So...would...

I've never played a G&L that I liked, but the only ones I've tried out were at Elderly's in the used section....probably ones being resold aren't a good indicator of a 'good' G&L (the good ones would be kept, aye?)
 
Those never really did much for me.

A guy I played in a band with in high school had an Asat, or whatever the regular looking G&L Tele is called, and that thing was amazing. I just don't care for the look of this one.
 
I like it, but the position and design of the pickups are not a go with me
Would love to play one, I have never played a G&L guitar
