(edit) Added gold switch and knobs to the hollow body. Decided to leave the green guitar knobs and switch alone. New pics below.

I’ve gotten some feedback that I should swap the OEM knobs for something else on these 2 guitars. What is your preference?

For the surf greenish color on your electromatic, I think the stock clear amber knobs actually work pretty well. For the other one perhaps something in gold to match the other hardware?

Love the gold knobs and switchtip.

Odd that this thread just got posted. I just replaced the knobs and switch tip (and put some pickup rings) on my Eastman last week. The knobs are gold with a ribbed rubber ring on the top. Snazzy, lol.

It’s a used Gretsch G2410T Streamliner hollow body. They gave it nice inlays on the fretboard back then. I upgraded the pickups to Blacktop Filtertron’s and added the gold knobs + the gold switch.

Here they are. This is how far I got last weekend.

and they are gold. Took them off to put new pots in but, life got in the way. I've been thinking of putting new pots in for 5ish years. Knobs turn but, wipers are stuck, don't move. I've gone back and forth forever, only mini pots will fit, thought about making more room with a Dremel. Finally ordered mini pots.

They are back where they are supposed to be. Went so well I tried to make a speaker cable. Pickle fest is November 7 and I need a third cable. I ordered some plugs, they came in with the pots. Had to drill the holes bigger for 16 gauge wire. Soldered everything up. Was thinking that sure isn't much room between my wires and the metal outside of the plug. Sure as shit, I have continuity between tip and sleave.

What's a rockabilly switch knob?

I got my gold screw-on switch tip and the gold G knobs on eBay. They are all Chinese knockoffs. The authentic Gretsch switch tip and knobs seemed overpriced to me. I would not be surprised to find out the authentic Gretsch parts are also made in China.
