WTF: Going to break one of my cardinal rules this week.

I have so many new songs this week and one of them I don't have time to memorize the lyrics for so I'm going to cheat and get a clip for my tablet to go on my mic stand .
Welcome to my world. Only thing is, time doesn't help my memory; time hurts it. :old:

I just don't have the time period this week to learn the lyrics to Wagon Wheel. I thought I was going to have to sing some of the Springsteen tunes too but its too rough on my voice so Joey is taking those over.

Cool tune too......and big with the crowd. One of the songs we play that without exception the crowd is singing along.

It's funny, I know the chords, etc. to hundreds of songs by heart, but constantly stumble over lyrics. I'm thinking that only a portion of my brain is riddled with beta-amyloid lesions...

Songs that I played from the 60's to the 80's are no problem. Many of my new songs, however, I cannot seem to remember the words. I use my laptop as a teleprompter so I can glance for a cue when I need it. :embarrassed:ops:

I was thinking that maybe I could get a USB port implanted into my head and use thumbdrives!

"cardinal rules" title had me expecting the Spanish Inquisition for once.

We've been getting requests for the and "Happy" for some time now. I'm curious how our arrangement will go over...its a little more "guitar heavy" and quick :embarrassed:

More guitar heavy than the Rolling Stones? Oh wait... that "Happy." Never mind. Mojo sent.

Don't worry about it. Springsteen has been using teleprompters for decades at this point. He's written a few hundred songs and just keeps the lyrics handy in case he forgets. The forgetting is a product of the sheer volume of tunes and his live shows being pretty spontaneous in that he'll stop singing to get into a musical grove with the band and they'll goof around for a bit. When they come out of the jam/cheeky shenanigans, he'll check the prompter to help get his lyrical bearings.

Lots of other folks do it too, not just President Obama. :thu:

That's only got like three lyric lines. My three year old had it down after the first time he heard. Come on Mark! First that horrible guitar and now this.

Do I see a Google glass in your future? :embarrassed:

That'd actually be a pretty slick application for those, if they didn't look like they do.

Actually I love that idea.

GC didn't have anything that fit my non apple tablet. Time to get creative.
