Reportedly the driver had a heart attack :(

I was actually in a pub a few hundred yards down the road from it when it happened. I was out doing some shopping and bumped into some mates from my old local and went for a drink, my Mrs phoned to see if I was OK (she works on one of the streets that runs into the square) and told me what had happened to her knowledge. Of course details are still unfolding as we move on.
Totally fubar situation - I had no plans to be near the square but there but for the grace of God....

RIP to those that died. Sympathy to the friends and families.
Fast and full recovery to those injured.
And best wishes to the driver. He's going to be a mess knowing he caused this. I'm assuming, of course, that it was something outside of his control, like a heart attack.

Yeah I'm fine though had to field quite a few worried calls from friends and family that knew I was in town.
Latest update is that 6 folk are dead including grandparents and their teenage grand daughter and another 6 are still in hospital.
Terrible and I'm just glad there weren't more victims - yesterday was the first proper day of the school holidays and that square is where the big Christmas market is so it would have been packed.
