For some reason ......,. After Pragestock

I posted the Pragestock GAS thread but some reason just coming out if there makes me want to buy shit that wasn't even there

:spit:

I may want stuff but GAS vs Reality are two things!
True but it for two years coming out of there I just want something new. The reality of that may be different it gets just checking out stuff. Pragestock kinda makes want to do better to. Be better than I was last year, so to speak

Everybody wants to be better than last year. Gear may contribute to improvement but can also be a hinderance as well. One needs to tread carefully or else you will have a room full of gear with limited abilities because you failed to practice.

Oh I understand that but I was just talking about the drive to wanna be better i come out of there wanting to be better. I wanna learn something now. That's what I'm saying. You get chance hang out with talent way above yours and it makes you wanna be better

I know I need to take lessons to really improve, but it's almost impossible to do being on 3rd shift.

Anyone can improve. It is just a matter of goals and how much time you put into to. Choose small obtainable goals that you know you can master in 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, etc. Don't go in saying that you are going to be playing like Steve Vai in one year unless you find yourself at the Crossroads meeting Jack Butler in person.

If take the small chunks, you will find that in a years time you'll be saying: I couldn't do that a year ago!

I've been guilty of this. I spent the past year practicing and learning songs for my band and realizing how much shit I had that was pretty useless to me. I've been selling off guitars (sold 3 recently) and parts projects that I don't have time to work on, and have been trying to simplify my amp and such.

A side effect has been pedal acquisition  but that's also been a refinement thing and now that it's in my new pedal board, I hope it will stay put for the next several months.

I'll probably sell off a couple more guitars in coming months so I get down to my Taylor, the Baimun-McFeely when it's done, the PRS, and a couple backups and that's it.

Its amazing how your gear decisions change as you start performing more. I've been a public spectacle in this regard concerning my pedals. :embarrassed:

A couple things I noticed... practicing at home I loved gain with bottom end, and lush reverb. All three of those things get lost or muddy on stage.

I'm playing cleaner now, much more focus on mids, and I'm replacing my reverb pedal with a digital delay for when it needs it, but off when it should be crisper.

Its amazing how your tone changes once it gets next to a drumset and in a room other than one in your house. Even the studio at Premier is not a good indicator of hwo things sound in the real world.

It happens dude. I look at my gear and start to see if I can whittle away and then realize I use it all. Of the GAS that I have had recently, I have turned away and let the GAS subside because it was more want than need. With my TP band I need to get a Ric 12 but won't until the band is stable and gigging alot. While I would want a 12 just to have one, it isn't in dire need. I am GASing the Pinnacle that you have on your board as it sounded great through Prages Weber amp. However I am not going to buy it yet as I have General Gadgets BSIAB3 which is similar to it I need to finish building. No reason to duplicate if I get similar results.

As for your pedal influx - congrats! The colors one can get with different gear is a great thing!

After finding some schematics floating out there on the Pinnacle, the major difference between the two youts....units is the placement of the tone stack. Wampler has a final stage buffering the signal before the output jack and an additional gain stage.
