My wife works in a doctor's office as a receptionist. One of the the (very few) perks is that drug reps come in two days a week to pitch their products to the docs. They always bring lunch for the office workers. Monday the drug rep brought in stuff from a Mom & Pop Thai restaurant I have never heard of. The other thing about Mrs D's office is almost all the workers have no taste in food. They scarf down Subway and Chic-Fil-A, but anything remotely different (Thai, Middle Eastern) they will not touch. So no one ate much of the food Monday. Yesterday Mrs D brought home all the leftovers since no one wanted it. Pad Thai noodles. Green Curry, and Red Curry. I have a fridge full of the stuff. And it is seriously some of the best Thai I have ever eaten! We will try the actual restaurant some time, but in the meantime I am one happy camper!
 
That sounds delicious. How is the spice level? And more importantly... is it better than TOMMY'S?

The red curry is pretty mild - the green curry has a bit of a kick and the same with the Pad Thai noodles. Nothing really hot at all.

And I have not eaten at Tommy's yet....(hangs his head in shame).

Nice...loves me some good Thai food. We are fortunate to have a bunch of good ones local.
 
We ate at a little Thai restaurant in Mesa, Az just prior to seeing Peter Frampton a couple weeks ago. We didn't realize almost his entire band and road crew were at the tables on either side of us until we saw them walk out on stage. Great food and service.
 
Not bragging, but I have 30 Thai & Cambodian restaurants within a 20 minute drive of my house. Five of the best are within 10.
 
Same thing happens at my wife's clinic. They'll throw away big tins of great food, but instead she'll take it home. We get several great meals a week free. We have also discovered a really great BBQ restaurant, as well as a few others because of the catering.

Today, she brought home a few big containers of Chuy's creamy jalapeno salsa.

I live in the middle of the 'burbs and most of the best ethnic restaurants are in Denver proper so not a lot close to the homestead - but there are good places about 10 - 15 miles away...
 
Awesome. :thu: We have the same thing at work. Order dominos pizza, and the masses descend like rabid wolves. Order anything exotic, and it just sits there.

I'm lucky to have a really great local Thai place.
