how much is a good used price for one?

i have a friend who is giving me first dibs on it at $300 for me $350 for anyone else. all in great condition.

should i jump on it?

What specifically is attracting you to the Blues Jr?

A while back, I was looking into getting one as a low wattage tube amp to put behind a good boss multi-fx unit. Then I saw Fender's Vibro Champ XD for $150 less and the idea of a Blues Jr went right out the window. Tubes? check. Small, portable? check. Low wattage? check. External speaker jack? check. Bunch of kickass tones? fucking check.

Now that I have the Blackheart Little Giant for that money ($350) I'd have to say that it kicks the crap out of the blues Jr. If you play through it and like it then buy it. Don't buy it just because you think its a good deal, though.

Blues JRs are ok, and that's a decent price. good, small gigging amp that doesn't have a lot of frills. you just need to be careful that you turn the amp off before you plug in/out. they tend to blow transformers and fry inputs.

I hated the blues jr that I had. Mine was the tweed NOS one. Way harsh. I played warrens xd and it was sweet. Way nicer than a blues jr.

I've owned two and never really bonded with either. The price is definitely reasonable. Play through it first though since there are other options in that price range.

I agree with everybody else. If you can get one relatively cheap (say $250), then it might be worth it, if you don't mind modding it to improve the sound. I've played Gary's (Hecticone on HC) Superchamp XD a few times, and a couple of Blackheart Little Giant's. They were both quite a bit better than the Blues Jr., IMO.

I play blues and classic rock.

well i know his guys. hes a friend of mine. and hes very anal about his gear and he takes very good care of everything. so hes giving me first choice on it at a better price than everyone else.

on next thursday is when i will see him next and hes going to bring the amp in with him (hes a gigging musician) and let me play with it a bit.
