i expect it to be a SF Bassman tone stack. i don't think it'll be a tweed or blonde thing. regardless, it won't sound like a Bassman anyway.

who wanted more gain out of a SFDR though? isn't that what pedals are for?
 
The "Normal" (non-Bass) tone stack on a BF/Sf Bassman is already identical to the Normal channel on the DR.
 
Yeah, isn't one of the biggest differences the value of the negative feedback resistor, which isn't even in the tone stack?

And fwiw, I'm not a fan of reducing NFB in Fender amps. Every amp I've tried that with sounded harsh - always end up returning to the stock values.

I think Allen nailed the requirements for a versatile BF/SF Fender with the RAW control and post-PI Master Volume. You could really dial them in for a lot of mids and gain and still keep them smooth.

I'm thinking of building a DR from the ground up and adding both.
 
Part of me would love to try one of these and another part of me wants to just have Kevin Nelson build me a good version.

I have no idea who Kevin Nelson is, but unless it is over $1500, I would let him build one. If it is over $1500, then I would have to find out who is before I had him build one. If you would have him build you one, I am sure it is worth it.
