Ratt was the first concert I ever went to

Triumph is one of those bands I associate a specific time and place and it is about 1981 youth football practice I had Triumph going in my head the whole practice and I had a stomach ache. The coach recommended I just go to the water fountain and drink some water. To this day if my stomach is up set I always think about drinking water. Survivor is another band associated with football practice and it was probably the next year , 82 because we practiced in a differnt part of the park. I was pissed because I wanted to be a running back and they stuck me at right gaurd instead so I fucking rampaged like a madman and instead of holding a block in place I just plowed through anybody brave enough to be on defense against me...Nobody wanted to be on the opposing defense who would be in my path...I took names and destroyed *spits* *edit* and the song going in my head the whole time was EYE OF THE TIGER

Night Ranger a friend gave me for a birthday present and I played the shit out of it.

Tesla I bought on cassette and played a lot. I remember it was around 1986 and the year me and my best friend at the time started smoking pot regularly. It was also the year I went on a cross country road trip with my uncle truck driving for United van lines.

Quiet Riot was also played a lot and it was around the same time I was friends with the guy who gave me the Night Ranger. This was during my skateboard years which was about two years. The later part I was also listening to JFA, Necros , Black Flag and all the hardcor punk bands along with Night Ranger and Quiet riot :embarrassed:

Dokken actually was on the bill (they opened) for Ratt.

Whitesnake I remember listening to at my Uncle the truck drivers home in Illinois when we had stopped for a break which ironically or not was not to far from Theodore *spits*

I never really got into Helix , Trooper or April Wine

Goin off-book and picking Mountain. iROC is nicknamed the Nantucket Sleighride.
I listened to tons of mountain in 87 when I ditched school everyday. me and my friend would cruise around in my car cranking Mississippi queen. I Later bough NS on vinyl that year.

Deebo does Springsteen.
I never got Springsteen probably because the first time I ever heard him was from MTV BITUSA....also it didn't help that the uncle truck driver who woulda been like 46 then actually purchased that Bruce boxset (I learned this from my folks because on our trip he never played the radio) so I associated Bruce as old folgie muzak

man..... tough call.... long term, I can picture every single one of those artists depending on daytime vs night time driving...

... but after deep soul searching.... the first song I would want to hear in an IROC-Z....

Admittedly, the first time I saw this video, I thought Sammy Hagar was in the band.... and then I realized "Wait, that's the guitar player from that live Ozzy video..."

So I had to dig through my Ozzy albums to see if I had one with his name listed. Sorry Brad Gillis... I didn't know your name until you were in Night Ranger.

Here's another I used to listen to around the Quiet Riot/ Ranger era....Denverdave's "ion" made me remember the name

That would be a good first sentence in the ddbob story.
