huh...is that one of the "custom shop" american ones? I had a student get offered an endorsement deal from First Act a couple of years ago but I don't remember that model in the stuff he showed me...

no, it's actually the model that they were giving away with new Volkswagens a few years ago... it's a chinese import in the same league as the SFA stuff was, more or less FA's attepmt at breaking into the mid level market. the'yre actually very decent instruments...

Yup. They are great little guitars. I believe the PUP's are Alnico V's. Built in over-drive. I have played the GM more than any other guitar since I started guitar about 3 years ago. They can be had pretty cheap in CL. People got them free with thier VW, and a lot of people don't play. So they figure anything they can get for them is gravy. I got a couple for under $150.

Yeah, the Garagemaster is a pretty cool sounding guitar. I almost bought one a year and a half ago. My only complaint is that the body's a little small for my tastes (it's sort of sized and shaped like Brian May's Red Special), and I thought it was a tad neck heavy. I sort of felt sorry about not buying it.
