I may hate this. But Sweetwater is blowing them out at half the original price and I need a decent way to play guitar at night, at the very least.

This should also make recording guitar easier. Currently I mic up my Deluxe Reverb (through Jettenuator) in my apartment and it's a pain. I don't know if this thing will sound as good as micing up my real amp, which of course I will still be able to do, but I figure it's worth a chance at the relatively low price.

Anyone have any experience with these? Will I hate it?

I told the Bird Index drummer about it and his first comment was "ugh."
 
your drummer sounds like a smart guy :grin:

No experience with these at all. I don't have any need for one (I live in a house and suck to bad to record) but I'm sure you'll get some use out of it.
 
I saw the Great Deals post about this. The price on this is hard to turn down. The clips I have heard of these sound pretty damn good.
 
I recall a few years back a guy who was buying one of my guitars brought one of these over to audition it (the guitar). It is a pretty cool piece of gear.
 
Wow! You really can't pass it up at that price.
I would totally pick that up if I didn't already have a Valvulator for direct recording.
 
I've used a VERY limited version of this that came in my ProTools (8?) software. The couple of amps they let me try were pretty good but I end up using the Tech 21 SansAmp patch instead most of the time.

I might look into this deal.

The Digitech Trio could do nothing for me. This thing will take me at least a couple of weeks to get through all the features and settings and then decide to put it back in the box. So it will not be faster.
 
Heard Neil Zaza demoing it at Sweetwater a long time ago. Son loved it. I didn't. It just sounded so harsh. Don't know if it was the 11 rack, the monitors I heard it through or, they could of just done a much better job EQing it.

Also, was surprised to see it in the great deals thread. It's been 1/2 price for a year or two.

That would be correct; however, when SW was first blowing these out, they were including a FULL version of PT. Now, the PT you get is very limited; however, it is not needed to use the 11R.

I’m probably going to GearFest again this year; wonder if it will be on the deals table for even less.

I'm going too. First time in a long time. Just need son to give a concrete answer to who is going. Need to make reservations to spend the night. Also, Sweetwater could get off their fat asses and say who is going to be there what day.
 
I've considered getting one of these several times.
This is a helpful video for anyone considering getting into amp modeling units, on the other hand for that price I doubt you'd be too horribly upset if you decided you didn't like it.

 
I stayed away from this thread out of disappointment, but I'm pleased to see there is no Milly Bobby Brown content.

Price is down comparably over here as well. I may think about it or snag a used one soon.

This thing sounds pretty good! And I was able to get the gator box I ordered for it bolted to my desk. It does not sound as good as using a microphone with a real amplifier, but it definitely sounds better than I was expecting it to. This will be perfect for playing at night. I recorded a quick demo with my jazz master but I think a bit rates are off because the MP3 sounds slowed down.
