I'm going to have to disagree with you there. The microbrew industry in the US is putting out beers on a even par with the best anywhere in the world. Now if you are talking about the major breweries (Budweiser, Coors, etc) I would agree. But most of them are owned by overseas firms now.

I meant to say I feel to European and Australian beers made by their collective large breweries are better than the Major US brands.

If temperature makes a huge difference in flavor then I doubt any scientific observations have been made in this thread so far.

I will tell you it tastes different in Michigan than in California. And different at home vs the pub.

Tell you what. I’ll be there next month.

Once I’ve gone through security and checked my baggage, I will go the liquor store at the airport and buy a couple of Guinness. I will then have them in the backpack, and will do a taste test with my students when we visit Dublin.

I know, I know, it’s not draught. But hey.

You'll have to pour it high in two drafts and then maybe sir it with a spoon. All about putting technique. More bubbles =less bitterness.
