Did anyone watch the 2024 Grammy's last night?

I remember watching in the late 60s and early 70s; even then I thought it was bullshit. I have no use for the pageantry and thanking God for the award.

Truthfully... Luke's vocals were better in this live duet than the studio version. Maybe it's the compressed pro-tools way of single recording, maybe it's that he's had more time performing the song live now, but I didn't take any issues to this being a duet.

I agree with both your posts through this one. I really loved seeing TC. Was the highlight for me. Missed seeing the Brandy Clark/Brandi Carilie award presentation. Don't think they did that on the broadcast. Enjoyed the Joni thing even though it is hard to see an 80 year old croak out her iconic song. But we need to hear from the elderly and the song was quite fitting.
 
Didn’t watch. By the time these things roll around I’m usually done with the stuff in question. Either I like it and it’s in regular rotation or I’m bored of it or it’s not something I’m into.

I’d be more willing to watch if it was a coordinated launch of new stuff by big artists. Kinda like a fashion show announcing new sounds and projects and concepts. I sure as shit don’t need to hear “Flowers” again at this point. It’s a well-made thing but it’s run its course.
 
i have no time for sitting around for nearly 4 hours watching the "music industry" pat itself on the back for being soooo great.
it's the music industry version of miss america.

Also, I like this song, which I got to see performed live at Red Rocks with Brandy opened for Brandi, and they did it together during the BCB set.

I did not watch but I did check out some of the songs both nominated and not last night. I like Flowers actually but think Vampire is better.

I caught a few minutes of it toward the end, but turned it off when that Travis Scott guy started "singing" an autotuned pile of dung.
 
So for those of you that did watch, any acts of note worth watching? My DVR automatically recorded the show since it was on prime time. In the past I've fast forwarded through all the chatter and watched performances. It's a good way to compress the 3 hour marathon down to about 10 minutes of useful content.

I watched a clip of Miley doing a bit of a Tina Turner impression and I saw another clip of her doing an acceptance speech. She went from child star to spectacle/train wreck to bonafide superstar. She's Hollyweird for sure...to me, very attractive visually.
