the “Mother” singer opened up about his aversion to big tech. After Danzig encouraged his fans to “get off the computer and go out and experience the real world,” Kayzer pointed out that the Misfits singer had a flip phone on his person.

“Yeah, the phone tracking, and listening in and everything and all the hacking. I don’t need it,” Danzig explained.

He added, “I don’t really want the flip phone. I don’t want people to get in touch with me when I’m out and about.”

I do not feel that a refusal to adopt every new technology is necessarily a failing...

......except the first iPhone came out 12 years ago......not really new technology

good for him. Next person that almost walks into me on the street because they're staring at their phone will be harshly ridiculed by me. I swear I will.

...and I'll bet you have a tele, a strat, an LP, or some other guitar that represents the cutting edge of 1950s technology, so what's your point?

It wasn't completely new then. Blackberry's were around and had internet browsing capabilities, but not the cool Safari browser and a full screen w screen keyboard. iPods were around and just moved directly into iPhones. Flip phones had texting and cameras (crappy ones). iPhones just brought it all together adding the touchscreen (which was originally prototyped on full screen computers) and a development platform for app designers.
That's all. Aside from that what has the iPhone ever done for us?

What if they are reading a newspaper or carrying an umbrella?

Sometimes I really miss the days before our little handheld computers took over. But people used to say the same thing about newspapers.

What year or century was the newspaper a newfangled thing?

Newspaper reading in the street? Doesn't happen in LA. The no rain umbrella people really piss me off though, almost wacking people in the face with the side oh their umbrellas. I usually just yell out, "hey, where's the rain?" or "buy some sunscreen you sidewalk hog!" That really gets them thinking.

So nothing to do with mobile phones then, but you just shouldn’t be out on the streets when there’s other people around :cop:
