Actually the local GC has a bunch on the pedals out on a board with cables, a MIM strat or cheap twin hum guitar and usually a small SS amp hooked up. No Deville (thank goodness...).
 
lol. That whole thing was fucking lame.

pretty sure the one i tried was an old one, when i was trying out chorus pedals and bought my CE-2. which is the only chorus pedal i've really ever liked. but mine had a horrible bypass and i eventually sold it for 3x what i paid. all of my chorusing/flanging needs are taken care of by a Foxrox Paradox TZF. they go for even stupider money than i paid for it. and even it sits off of my board these days in favor of my Subdecay Quasar DLX phaser.

my problem isn't with chorus pedals. it's with the horrible wide, deep chorus people tend to use. the one that was popularized in the 80s. if you're going to do that, you might as well just cut your ears off. you can use it for a much warmer sound, like John Scofield does. but that's not what most people think of or use it for.

I never cared for the CE-2 as I thought is was too deep. Great for bass but I didn't like it for guitar. I had a used one and I sold mine a long time ago. I used to use my A/DA Flanger for my chorus effect when I needed it. As for my app, similar to Mark but I like mine subtle more to add ambiance - kind of what Jamie West Orram of the Fixx does. The effect is there but not so deep that it stands out. I gotta agree the deep stuff is quite irritating. That is why I like the CS9 and the TC of I own the old one. To make my CS9 more usable I will be changing some parts out soon to get faster sweep speed similar to a Leslie. I have the parts but working at one project at a time - well several at time.

I'll agree with that.....

Even worse is acoustic guitar chorus. I don't mind it now and then with a very subtle touch, but everyone seems to want to crank on the chorus every song. The country band is in the middle of a CD project and I'm trying to figure out putting a disclaimer in there that I had nothing to do with the EQ/mix of my tracks since the keyboard players is always putting chorus on the acoustic guitar tracks....

That definitely will kill any thoughts of wanting to use chorus. It is the same as delay, too much and :puke:
 
the funny part of all of this is that i use a modulated delay. :tongue:
