...or "crisps" for you old worlders...yay or nay?...there are so many type of chips, and everyone has a different favorite flavor...theres regular ol' potato chips, krinkle cut, corn chips, tortilla chips, pita chips, sweet potato chips, doritos, salt and pepper, salt and vinegar, sea salt, sour cream and onion, cheese, chicken chips, jalapeno, bbq chips representing every bbq region...pickle chips, ketchup chips, pickled onion chips, kettle chips, kettle BRAND chips...tons...

...what are your favorite?...

...I always liked French Onion Sun Chips...and Kettle Brand Salt and Pepper chips...and the Salsa Rio Doritos...

...share...both your favorites, and your chips...

I love making tuna salad, but instead of making a sammich, i just dip it out with these. Yum.

I don't eat them very often, but when I do I tend to go for kettle style with sea salt and pepper. Delicious.

I LOVE crisps.

Better than chocolate or sweets imo :thu:

The only problem is. A little bag as too small to really hit the spot and a big bag is too big because once you start you end up eating them all.

Best flavour of traditional crisps: Worcester sauce.

Best "alternative" crisp: Frazzles (they even look like bacon) :tongue:

Now I must resist looking in crisp box for packet.

...a friend of mine went to visit some family of his in London a few years back, and he brought back a few "packets of crisps"...I loved the pickled onion ones...walkers, I think they were...there was a shrimp flavored one too...I think it was called "prawn cocktail"...
 
Our local store brand ripple chips are pretty damn good. They changed up their whole snackfood line and it's gotten much better. Same style as Lay's wavy, and about 30% cheaper too. For dip, I refuse to buy the ready made stuff. I have two absolute favorites based on sour cream. First is bacon & horseradish. One pint of sour cream, 1 packet of Goya ham seasoning, and a bit of wasabi paste/ powder to add zing. Paste is faster IF you thin it out some with a little half & half. Regular prepared horseradish has too much of a vinegar taste and ruins it. I'll usually add some fresh chives or green onion too if I'm not too lazy. A small bit of white pepper is nice but not necessary. I let it sit in the fridge for about an hour so the flavors can meld.

The second is a simple ranch with fine crumbled blue cheese and a good amount of chopped pickled jalapenos. Rules for this.... powdered ranch dressing mix. 1 packet per pt of sour cream. Decent tasting blue cheese. I suggest Trader Joe's Danish. 2-3 oz is enough depending on how much heat comes off the jalapenos. Old El Paso pickled jalapenos, chopped very fine and dried off on a paper towel. If desired, a smallshake of regular Goya Sazon can be added for a bit of red/yellow coloring. The idea is to have just a hint of color.

2 also amazing flavours.

Pickled onion seems to be seasonal but prawn cocktail are always around and they are brilliant.
