Childhood mystery solved

So when I was about 12 years old, my dad would tiptoe into my bedroom at 4 AM, grab the covers at the foot of the bed, and then yank them off really fast and then scream "CHICKEN TINGA!" in my face at the top of his lungs. Then he'd go back to bed.

This happened every night for I guess six weeks or so, then it stopped.

I never asked him about it, not then, not after... until a few days ago. I finally got up the nerve.

I said "dad, what was that all about? Why did you wake me up and scream in my face at 4AM when I was a kid for six straight weeks?"

He replied, "what's your favorite food?"

I answered "chicken tinga."

He said "well, there you go."

LOL

Was that your favorite food before this incident or was he planting the idea? LOL

I'm going to invade my son's room like this.

Favorite food, or not, it was still a weird thing to do to a 12 year old. I'm sure he wouldn't have liked it if you had started returning the favor after the 6 weeks.

Whenever we stayed over at my grandfather's house he stomp into the room at 5:30, grab off your comforters and blankets and yell, "GEEEEEEEET UP! When Papa's awake, the world's awake!" If you weren't up and getting the bed made in 2 min. he'd dump a glass of cold water on your head.

On the one hand, this story is disturbing. On the other hand, there are worse things that some Dads do to their children. So, I suppose it’s worth counting your blessings.

Perhaps, somebody could write a song about chicken tinga. I’m not, necessarily, hinting at any one particular, potential author of such a tune.

your dad terrorized you with chicken tinga...you terrorized your kid with tuna...what food will he terrorize his kid with??

I'm guessing eggs
