This Charvel Custom guitar is absolutely built for metal. Dual DiMarzio humbuckers provide plenty of high-gain fire power in an easy-to-use package. Really like the color.

If ever a guitar screamed for a trem it's this one.

One knob to rule them all, on a $3200 SuperStrat with no trem unit.

Sorry, but got to go with Not Hot, and I am a Charvel whore.

Just doesn't tick the right boxes for me.
 
Had to go Not Hot as a San Dimas should have a Floyd Rose on it. Unlike @Kerouac I like transparent green but agree it really does need to have black hardware to go with it rather than chrome.

The fact that this guitar is a hardtail is why I have my eyes on it. I've been struggling over deciding between a hardtail and a Floyd. I had a feeling I would get responses stating this guitar needs a trem for this style of guitar.

If I did decide on having a trem, I would also struggle between recessed and flush mount. I currently have a 2007 MIJ Jackson Dinky with a recessed Floyd and is a HSS configuration. I am looking to get a hard rock/metal type guitar with two humbuckers. I don't find Floyds to be all that difficult to set up and maintain, but I would like to be able to switch between standard tuning and a half-step down more easily. Also, I like hardtails better for bending. Finally, I almost never use a trem anyway. Plus I do have my Dinky with a trem if I do want it.

I like all the other specs of this Charvel. I like the translucent green.

For what this costs, I'd look at the Jake E Lee Charvel.

Or you can put a Tremelo-No on one of the Floyds.

The Jake E Lee is HSS and I am really wanting a HH. I hear you on the cost of this Charvel though.

Anybody try to negotiate prices with The Music Zoo before?

I have a 2005 Les Paul Studio. I am looking for a super Strat style with more muscle than the typical Strat and a compound radius neck like on Charvels and Jacksons, which I find to be ideal for me. Something from Suhr or a GJ2 might also work.

The Charvel from my OP really seems to check all my boxes if I decide on a hardtail.

It just seems really expensive for what it is.........

I do love the color, though. Ebony board is a nice touch, too.

I totally agree with you on the price. They would have to come down some before I pulled the trigger. It does have stainless steel frets and the ash body with the translucent paint are also likely considered upgrades. Still, I think the guitar is really not worth more than $2,800 tops.
