I've recently come the the opinion that the Chevy Nomad is one of the most stylish cars ever made. Or at least one of the most stylish station wagons.
I think the car show needs more 32 roadsters though.

That Nomad got me thinking about my old '57 wagon. Sorry for the crappy pic quality... these two pics have been taped to my workbench here at work for years. I just shot them with my blackberry and uploaded them to photobucket.
It belonged to my best buddy in the late 80s. We worked on it together and had a lot of fun in it, and a few close calls too. He passed away in 1991. His wife sold it and I thought I'd never see it again, then my wife spots if for sale about 50 miles north of here, sans motor, tranny, exhaust and interior. I gave the guy 600 bucks and towed it home, put a 283/powerglide in, new exhaust, Pontiac Ralleye Wheels, and other stuff. I finally sold it in 2000 to a guy who had much more time and money to invest in it than I did. It's still around somewhere.
Many stories and many good times with this car. After I bought it, I'd get stopped by guys/gals who'd ask if it were mine and how they used to party in it! The old girl got around for sure.

Hate those wheels! WHY?
They just don't look right for the era of the car. They look out of place and they unbalance the whole flow of the vehicle.
Something like the wheels on that truck would look better on the Chevelle.
Actually I don't get the whole "huge wheel" thing. I was just looking at custom truck magazine. They all had these gigantic rims on them and (IMHO) they all suffered vissually because of it.

I'm not a fan. either. Whats funny is that while I hate modern wheels on old cars, my truck has a set of 70's era wheels that I dig even though they aren't "period correct". They're pretty messed up, though. :(

Thanks, it's someone else's now. You know, '57 wagons weren't worth anything 20 years ago. No one wanted them. Now they're collectibles. Of all the station wagons, I guess the '55-'57 Chevys are the most valuable these days
