Achtung! Baldies / guys who shave their hair

jbj

Poor old Geordie's array...
I dunno if I'm looking for mojo or advice or whatever but...

I'm starting to noticably bald at my crown, my hairline is getting pretty high too.

I have a friend who has a bald spot that looks ridiculous. He's the butt of plenty of jokes because of this and I refuse to let that happen to me.

Plus being a teacher the last thing I need is to give the kids any more ammo and I'd rather be baldy mr jbj than mr jbj that refuses to acknowledge that he's going bald.

Since I'm switching schools next week and no one will know me there, I'm going to get my hair shaved off this weekend. :thu:

My old man has been bald since I was a kid and I always thought I'd be as bald as him by time I was 21 so 26 isn't too bad a time to tap out.

I can suffer from dandruff now and again, can that happen when you're hair is shaved right in? Again I don't want to give the kids any ammo.

It can look good on the right person. I shaved my head once - I looked like a dork. I even have a pic....

Yes - that is Mrs P and Prages. And Mrs D. Mrs P & Mrs D have the Izze fruit spritzers.

I know some people can pull it off.

I'm not very confident that I can but I'd rather be a goofy bald guy than a douche who refuses to accept that his hair is gone unlike my friend.

I don't try to hide the fact that my hair is thinning. I mean, I do try to keep it cut in ways that don't make me look worse than I need to, but I don't do a combover or anything drastic like that.

Yeah, hiding is a bad idea...and it looks terrible. I would either go with the buzz cut or the total shave.

Cutting it really short is a good option. Personally, I think very few people look good with the completely shaved dome. Plus I would imagine having to shave your had frequently with a razor would suck. I see a lot of guys doing it and I really think it looks stupid on most. I do think younger guys get away with it better than the guys in their 50's but still, it rarely looks good in my opinion.

Really short buzz cut is an entirely different story and most people can pull it off. Even with a bald spot it doesnt look like you are hiding it. My hairline is working it's way back pretty good and I just keep getting a little shorter with the hair.

Just shave it all off. then grow a goatee. It'll make you look younger. Worked for my dad. He's 50 going on 35, it would appear.

I've got a semi goattee going just now. I was growing for movember but since I'm ginger my tach is still barely visible after 3 and a half weeks so I kept the beard too.

The plan is: get her to shave it short to see how it looks, it it's good keep it, if not, take it all off (it'll grow back anyway...)

then see how the goattee looks before I decide whether to lose or keep it.

As we can see, even in our publicly disfunctional and oversterilized world, our body hair is still a serious concern.
It's putting your head through because we've all got it as men, but we're all pumped up by ads and Hollywood.
Could you live with yourself and your natural hair growth, or does it put your head through too much?
I had short hair, once, and I had to get used to the feeling or air, and the wind, on my head, a distraction.
Being bald is originally a fighter, soldier thing, so your enemy couldn't grab you by the hair.
It was a thug thing until recently, if you consider pro wrestling as legitimizing that,
or being like Hells' Angels bikers, witha Harley, just not being a Hells' Angel.
I like to use womens' hair product to wash away the grey.

I shaved my head in sympathy for a friend who lost his hair due to chemotherapy. He was really touched.
I wasn't fond of the way my head felt shaved. It was sensitive to temperature and when I'd lay my head on the pillow at night, it felt like sandpaper on satin.

My son had his hair buzzed almost all off in solidarity with patients getting chemotherapy too. I was so proud of him! When I have the money and time (rarely both at once it seems) I get my hair cut very, very short. A #1 for the head and a #2 for the beard.

bic it.
I used to all the time.
the current gal doesn't like it though, says it makes me look like a convict.
"but I AM a convict" I tell her...
doesn't help.

know this, though:
if you plan to use an actual razor, get one of them vibrating 5-blade jobs.
and get lots of extra blades.
DO NOT use some cheap piece of shit razor.
trust me.

the 1st shave will kill a few of them.
use a shaving cream too, or whatever you'd normally use on your face.
if you give it a once over each day (or every other), it'll stay looking spiffy.

and no, you won't have to worry about dandruff.

bald is beautiful.
solar panel for a sex machine, etc...

and like you said, if you don't dig it, it'll grow back.
