Baimun's 4H fair report....

First off, I pretty much can't stand going to the fair. It's basically the same stuff every year... despite our area being one of the largest county fairs in the midwest. I don't ride the rides anymore... I'd rather save my money and go to Cedar Point than pay 5 bucks to spin around in a rusty deathtrap.

I only went because my wife wanted to go and she's still pretty weak, so I wanted to escort her and make sure she didn't get too tired with all the walking.

Trace Atkins was playing.... didn't know who he was until the "Honkey Tonk Badonk a Donk" song started playing... recognized that one.

Saw one of the the biggest damned horses I've ever seen....

He was almost 6 and a half feet tall at the shoulder.... his head was bigger than my torso. And he weighs 2400 fucking pounds!!!!

Hightlight of the night..... Deep Fried Banana Foster Cheesecake.

Took an hour to get out of the red-neck-fest parking lot, but we're home safe and sound now.

Also had some deep fried strawberries.

In previous years I've had deep fried snickers, deep fried butter, deep fried pickles, and fat free yogurt.

I love the look on the girl in the bandana behind you.

That horse actually looks a lot like one of my old horses, he was a Belgium, Appaloosa mix and his name was also Prince. I broke him when I was sixteen and spent two years riding him all over the farm. He was huge though and I had to have looked like a three year old riding him around. He was really sweet though and never really tried to hurt me. Although, ehwn your that big he didn't have to try.

I love the county fair, but only the one in the fall, when it's cool and crisp out. Don't think I'd love deep-fried cheesecake.

Thats a big horse. I havent been to Cedar Point in ten years. Mrs. Rev doesnt like it so I dont get to go.

I've only ever tried the deep-fried twinkies.

They are kinda dry, really need to put one of the toppings on 'em :embarrassed:

What'd you get for dinner? Pork Chop sandwich, crab balls, chicken-on-a-stick........

We ate dinner before we left for the fair. Trying not to torture Mrs. Baimun too much because her diet is somewhat limited to easy to digest, organic food right now, so she couldn't really eat anything we got, but she had one tiny taste of a piece of my cheese cake. She didn't want to push it too much.

We had some pretty tasty Tilapia with mashed potatoes, with steamed veggies.

The local amusement park here is called Camden Park, it has been there for as long as Prages and I can remember. THey had an accident this weekend where one of the cars detached itself from the spider ride. Kind of scary. I don't think anyone was hurt bad. I used to love riding the Spider though. I went to Camden Park once when I was a teen and was staying in Huntington as a Nanny. When I was there an accident happened on that ride that goes around with all the swings on it, One of the chains broke and threw a kid around and hit a bunch of people. It was creepy.

I'm pretty sure none of the rides at Camden Park have been maintenanced since I was a kid. :embarrassed:

As for a Weiner Cedar Point trip, I'm game. Maybe we can all schedule a day once the kiddies are back in school so the lines will be shorter.

Are they still open on week days after Labor Day?
