Question: anyone have unreasoning hatred for a particular brand of thing?

Peeker

jerkass
fr'instance...

I loathe PRS guitars.
and for no real reason.
I've played some (maybe 8 or 9?)...they were nice, played really well.
not well enough to justify the cost (bear in mind, stuff's more pricey here, nearest town is still a farm town, really)
and sure, I don't care for the birds (not my thing)
buttsecks otherwise, I think they look nice enough
especially the goldtop dealie

but no reason behind it.

I also loathe the Ford Excursion.
but that's work-related...

and Dean guitars (which saddens me, since they make so many awesome pointy shapes that I like)
but I've yet to try one that didn't play like dogshit.
granted, I've only tried a dozen or so...

I guess that actually has a reason behind it, never mind.

and of late (like the last 10 years), McFarlane Toys
@baimun will understand that :lol:

I have a focused hate for diarrhea.
Oh, unreasoned hate.

Um... Winnebagos!

Explosive 500 pounds of thrust kind, when I can find it.

Winnebagos' windshield wipers can never keep up.

I hate Cadillacs, always have. It always has seemed like a poser car to me. :embarrassed: (No offense intended to any forumites with caddies )

I like their TV commercial though with the Fountains of Wayne song and the cracklin MILF.

y'know, I cannot recall ever having seen a Cadillac in person.
I mean, I'm sure I must have, at some point, but...

but wine is booze.
booze is good.
ergo, Fender must be good.

now, if PRS would make a decently priced gin, we could talk.,..

see, and I don't care for scotch either.
so I guess me and PRS are never gonna "just get along"

maybe Rickenbacker will make me a Jack & Coke though...

Wine is overpriced old grape juice with a lot of marketing hype.
guitars are wood.
ergo, Fenders are overpriced wood with a lot of marketing hype.

Rickenbacker makes Jägermeister
now we're fuckin' talkin'!

though the last time I bought Jag, I woke up naked in a closet, covered in someone else's blood
never found out who.
that was about 14 years ago, I think...give or take a few

the wine we buy comes ina box, and you get 4 liters for about $28

ya gotta bear in mind, yer talkin' to the guy who thinks the $4 difference between a 15pk of this and a 15pk of that is a deal-breaker

all that said, I've never really bonded with a Fender, with the exception of a pal's Tele back in the 80's
if I hadn't liked the guy so much, I'd probably have killed him for that guitar.

that's not counting basses.
I've had a few Fender basses that I really liked.

I was expecting lots of "ford" and "chevy" responses. For some reason, aficionados of one seem to most frequently have antipathy toward the other...

I don't know anything about cars at all
never owned one
can't even drive without a licensed person beside me (only have my beginners)

I do know, however, that the 1966 Batmobile is the coolest fuckin' car EVER
