Another band wants me....

This last summer I subbed in for a blues rock band a friend is one of the singers in. She called today and the lead guitar player and blues harp player disbanded the group. Now the rest of the band is starting over and want me to be the second guitar player. This would be in addition to the country band. I'm thinking I'll go for it since it would be different music and give me a chance to stretch out and do some lead playing. The lead singer is a guitar player and would handle most of the leads....

Gotta clear this with Mrs D first though....

+1 that is what I always go for.

as long you have the time, go for it. I loved when I was in 2 bands at once, it is always fun when the bands don't play similar music, then you get to cover more ground musically.

Actually for me, being in several bands (and also doing other stuff every once in a while) is what keeps me sane and unbored.
Of course, it takes more time, but it is really rewarding playing wise imo.
I've found that doing the radically different styles in my bands (from blues rock to black metal) really has helped my playing lately - and that's without practicing at home (which I almost never have time for anymore...). :embarrassed:
 
Mrs D is ok with it. If both bands started booking like crazy it could present a problem, but that does not look like an issue right now. Half of the country band are in other bands already. I'll have to see what this group wants to do musically. I know Terry (singer friend) wanted to get a bit more modern than the last band so maybe some newer stuff....
