Amsterdam on Friday

dam, wish i could go there.

I was busking around Europe the first time I went there and was dreading it, this is I think the 6th time I've been back since.

my fiance has been furiously googlibg things to do without drugs in amsterdam  and my Facebook is filling up with all sorts of shit we're apparently attending.

I'm pretty sure you can do all those things on drugs.

Amsterdam, giving Holland a bad reputation since the 60s

There is so much to do and see in Amsterdam/Holland, it's a waste to smoke yourself into oblivion

My son is living there right now. Will be there until the end June. Not the type to partake so he should get a sober experience of the city.

But then how will they know I'm a British tourist????

Her best suggestion so far is some sort of organised pillow fight.

That sounds way too hipster to do high or otherwise.

Have fun. And please don't be one of 'those guys'. Can't give you much tips though, I was never fond of Amsterdam, the only positive thing I can say about it are related to visits to my GF's family.

Ah wait, there's the Eye film museum that's quite good.

I'll just go to the bulldog and be the least arseholey arsehole in the place

I don't think I've ever managed to be one of "those guys" over there though I may be completely mistaken. I like to imagine myself as a gentleman dandy soireeing around the town partaking in all of it's cultural and carnal delights.

Some poor bastard having to serve me in a boozer or coffee shop may have a differing opinions :embarrassed:

What is he doing there? And it's not like the entire city is constantly walking around baked, it's just that a lot of the tourists never leave the area that does give you that impression :embarrassed:

Amsterdam isn't quite what I remembered

everywhere has free Wi fi and the blues brothers coffee shop is now an Italian restaurant :-\

gentrification run riot!!!

I'm going to open up one of those yuppie cereal cafes that sell cornflakes @ £5 a bowl and retire.
