Another classic rocker from the 70s. Probably the best release from one of the most influential hard rock bands from that era even if they never really got as popular as they should have. One of my all time favorite live releases and probably Schenker's finest recorded release.

you've probably heard the whole thing on the radio over the years. I think it's the only UFO they play on classic rock radio.

When I got my first car all I did was drive around listening to this and Song Remains the Same by Zeppelin.
 
The epitome of a great live album from that era.

I will say again: when UFO were on, they were on.
 
This album practically taught me how to play guitar solo's. After learning a bunch of Page/Blackmore things, this was like the next step up. Incredibly melodic and fiery playing from Schenker. You can learn something from every solo here...even the ones that aren't too difficult to play like "Only You Can Rock Me"..are SO tasty...fantastic vibrato and bends in that one. Then there's "Lights Out" and "Rock Bottom" which are just jaw-dropping for the sheer energy he puts into them and how musical even the fastest licks are, and they're fast! And,that tone!! :love: :love: Great tuneful metal songs too of course.

Actually, one of my favourite things to play when I pick up a guitar is the beautifully melodic quiet intro to "Doctor, Doctor"..simple stuff note/speed wise...BUT..try and get it to sound as heartfelt and pitch perfect on the bends like Schenker does....it's a workout. I think he is just about the most "in tune" rock guitar player I've heard. I don't know how to describe it any better than that..his sense of pitch is just incredible.

This is a Desert Island Disc to me. Granted Force It, Phenomenon and Lights Out were great but Strangers brings it all! No holds Schenker barred.....
