A pair of killer Banshee's

Hi everyone,

Wanted to show off an interesting pair of Banshee's we built for Scott Holiday from Rival Sons.

Both times, these guitars were under such tight timelines I barely took pictures of them. Here's the first one:

This one was completed just in time to make it into the studio for Great Western Valkyrie. Spanish Cedar body, 3 piece Spanish Cedar Neck(thru). TV Jones Powertron (n), Magnatron (m) and Powertron+ (b). Legit orange sparkle drumwrap bindings, and the aging was done by our buddy Josh Grove of www.protocasterguitars.com.

Well, fast forward to two weeks ago and Scott called in a panic that they used the White Falc-shee on every track for the new album regardless of the tuning and now he needed a second guitar that sounded the same to cover one of the two major tunings they used. As luck would have it, I had a Banshee sitting in primer since october that the specs changed on and honestly, I kind of forgot about it. So I was able to rush one out by doing a flat finish instead of gloss.

Here's how "Ike" sounds live

I'm pretty excited, obviously! Great band, always a treat seeing stuff we build get played like this. My only gripe is I wish they had the new headstock.
 
I would love the headstock/pickup config/bridge of the green one above on a flying V body. That would be a Screaming Banshee! :grin:
 
That's a serious amount of beauty and power packed into two guitars! The white one in particular is so perfect in every way, and I normally don't like gold hardware.
 
those are two sexy guitars, Doug. I particularly like that white one. there's a Rival Sons set playing on Palladia since last week and i believe it's the Kauer he's playing for pretty much the whole show.
 
I love your guitars, but I can't ever see your pics. :( Do you upload them, or link to a photo sharing site? I think I'm able to see the former, but rarely the latter...

Yep!!! The gold "Firebird" with pinstripes is ours. It's on Keep On Swinging, Jordan and one more (Wild Animal I think?). There's a couple great shots from behind on Jordan that shows my name!!

Honestly, if this had happened with a months notice it would have been gloss but given the time frame I was under just getting it done took a small miracle. The flat finish basically spray it, assemble it the next day :wink: (I would have used Satin if I had any on hand lol).
 
HOLY HELL! Those are sexy!

Also I was wondering if one of the guitar players from the Eli Young Band bought himself a Kauer? I saw them on Conan the other night and the one guy was playing what appeared to be a white Banshee.

Not that I'm aware of but it's not impossible. Easiest way to tell, the low edge of the headstock is black on ours, the Gibsons will be either all body color (painted) or black in the center.

edit: just looked, that's a Gibby.
