A nice cover of Sweet Home Alabama

That is why I liked it, the country twang. I actually loathe this song now from so much air play as well as cover bands doing horrible versions of it. But her version had me sitting there really enjoying it. Just a different take on an over played tune.
Other than the fact her voice was more feminine, I thought it was just an exact cover of the song. I would have liked to hear her bring a different feel and approach to it.

+1

And we do it with Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" in the middle of it too. Thats like the white trash Powerball of shit music right there.

We do the reverse.... we play "All Summer Long" but sing "Werewolves of London" out of it....

... but at last night's gig, instead of saying "Singing Sweet Home Alabama... All Summer long...." I instead said "Singing Jimmy Eat Woooorrllld.... All Summer Long...."

and broke into:

I suppose I should have told the band I was going to do this.... considering we've never practiced the song before. The drummer followed along while the bass player shot me a dirty look. I just yelled over... "C G F over and over!!" (since we tune in standard and the original is in Eb, I just did the song in C.)

It went over great with the crowd.

I love throwing shit at the guys in the middle of a gig that we've never practiced.

I agree with the background. But what got me was the female vocal and the guitar solos. When I have heard other bands play this tune, it was just boring and unoriginal. With Laura, I loved the the country twang solos which helped to change the dynamic of the song. Remember I loathe the song and the two mentioned items kept me captive on a boring and irritating song.

That's cool, to me it was just one more of many.

No difference then all of the covers of EVH's Eruption. How many more ways can one watch or listen to someone else play that guitar solo. I know you won't bother Gary but I am just ranting on something similar.

There is a reason I don't play covers, and a reason that the times I do people tell me "that isn't how the song goes."
