A few new live vids from our gig last weekend.

I agree. As much as I sing I wish I was a BETTER singer, too. Especially with harmonies.

It's imo what seperates a really good band from an ok one. In recent years we've actually had separate vocal rehearsals to nail stuff like that, and it really pays off imo.
Too many bands treat it like an afterthought and just assign one guy to throw in some harmonies where he can.

It's something that regularly impresses the punters I've found.
Most people don't care how good a guitar player you are, it's the vocals they notice. :wink:

Then again, I've been lucky with the bands I'm in, where usually at least 3 guys know how to sing to various degrees of proficiency. Most guys can pull off simple backing vocal lines. :wink:

I'm one of those guys who never considered himself a singer, but needed to starting singing to keep working. I have a love hate relationship with the concept unfortuantely.

We have a couple of guys like that in the cover band I'm in, both don't really have good lead voices, but pull off backing vocals very well.
It really does depend on the personnel involved though. Some are incapable of finding the right notes/remembering cues and so on, so it doesn't work for every band.

When in bands where I know the majority can sing, I'll be sure to use it.
 
Looking forward to about 3-4 months btw, when we'll have mostly originals on our concert set.
We're going for it with this one. :rawk:

Could be, I just noticed in some other threads that no videos are showing up. Heading over to youtube now.

I'm on a mac laptop, I know almost nothing about how to fix stuff on a mac, if it comes down to that. This is my 1st mac, I've always been a PC guy.
 
Hmm, went over to youtube, everything works there, checked out a couple of other forums, videos worked there, came back here and now I can see the videos.

No idea what happened.
 
Sounds great.

I was big on that Cry Of Love album as well so it was nice to hear someone cover a tune from it. I was in a band that did a few covers from that record as well...for a while we were talking about doing 6 or 7 cuts from it and we had to tap the brakes and realize that only the musicians would want to hear them!! Peace Pipe was always a fav of mine.

We're doing Peace Pipe as well, but it wasn't included for this gig. Dig that tune. :)

Pretty much done adding covers at this point though, the idea is it should be mostly originals in the future (apart from the odd occasion of doing 3-set pub gigs).
