A Case for Culver's

Dogue in teh desert
so tyhe high dollar fast food burger joint is kinda like the hipster....been there done that....yesterdays news and trhey don't exist, really haven't for about 5 years now. BUT Culver's is different. I initially went to the one that opened here about 5 years ago. it was good from what i remember but i also remember thinking..."eh, ut;'s ok but it's fast food"

That changed this morning. I was hit with an urge for a burger, haven't had one in ages. I was perusing the Google and ended up looking at Culver's menu and saw a swiss and shroom burger. It was mmmmmm' good. The meat tasted and looked real. it tasted fresh and i believe that is their calling card...FRESHNESS. The bun was also fresh and real tasting.
Cross cut fries were again...fresh and tasty and good.
Even their rootbeer (Culver brand) was great, had a ol' fashioned creaminess to it. mellow atmosphere . It was actually cheaper overall than a Burger king or McDonalds...go figure.

Culver's nearest to me is 90 minutes south, but worth the effort. Plus there's a discount liquor store across the road.

FWIW, there are 2 in South Dakota: Mitchell and Rapid City.

no fried cheese curds?

as a cheesehead by birth, I'm contractually obligated to support Culver's regardless, but yeah, they're very good for a fast food burger

The closest one to me exists 22 minutes away in a singularity of shitty food joints: Culver’s, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Chili’s, Qdoba, Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings, Texas Roadhouse, Smokin’ Dave’s, and Outback Steakhouse. It’s like a giant mall food court with no bourbon chicken to redeem it. I can feel my arteries clogging just looking at the Google map.

I will give those a go next time. I have a Culvers about 5 minuites away :embarrassed:

None here, but every time we go back to Madison we make sure to get some Culver’s. It’s the only fast food we eat these days (unless you call falafel fast food...)

There is a Culvers maybe 5 miles from my house I have never eaten there. Ever. Maybe I should give it a try.

this thread is probably going to make me drive out to skokie to the nearest culvers in the next couple days...

As a low-carb sort of guy, my usual order is a mushroom swiss burgers sans bun (they'll serve it in a box), a salad, and an order of fried cheese curds. They make me feel like I'm not missing anything. Oh - and I'll usually follow that up with a custard to share with Mrs. bsman...
