I know it’s been awhile, but we have a Tyranny up for grabs. Full T6061-T6 construction. Thin 25.11 scale brushed neck with Grover Rotomatic tuners and Jescar stainless steel frets. Big box stainless steel covered high gain EGC pickups. 2 volumes, 2 tones and 1 3 way toggle. The mini toggle controls coil taps. CTS pots, Switchcraft jack and switch. NASA sourced Thermax wire. EGC hardtail string though bridge. The body is powder coated with pearl white on the front and wrinkle black on the rear. The neck is brushed and sealed Hardshell case is included.
This is all still the case. Here is what I have learned:
- The pickups are indeed high output. This is not a normal guitar. Having played around with a bunch of amps and pedals, my take is that this guitar is for people whose sound comes from running fuzz-style pedals into a big clean amp with massive overhead. It is AMAZING for this application. Prepare to hear full, clear chords through your muff for the first time ever. Even weird intervals are clear and beautiful, without losing the character of your pedals at all. It's also lovely in a clean setting. If, however, you're running a high-gain amp... this is not the guitar for you. Seriously. No.
- It's heavy. 11 lbs.
- The coil tapping is very nice, very useful. Especially for clean-ish stuff.
- It's soooo sexy.
OK, imperfections:
- There are some scratches between the first and second fret (pictured). It arrived this way. I consider them to be beauty marks.
- So... I got curious about this guitar's insides and took the back off. While handling it in this state, a piece of the finish flaked off where the neck meets the back. This makes me sad but... it happened. See the pictures.
- Otherwise, pristine
