Early and scarce German solid body electric guitar. Crafted by Fasan guitars . Body is wrapped in a gold metal flake with black line detail covering. An interesting early guitar that was well loved and has more to give. Fretboard appears to be rosewood. Headstock in black lacquer. The only marking is on the tail piece " made by Hagstrom Sweden ". Worn condition through out. Missing one tuner cover slight shrinking of metal flake covering at the edge seam. Some replaced knobs. Guitar does plug in and play. Rectangle hard case shown is included.

These 60s German solid bodies are really interesting examples of a number of historical events & cultural influences all coming together into time capsule that would be pretty cool to have in a collection for that reason alone.

The practice of wrapping the guitar body in a laminate is apparently a hold over from accordion manufacturing. If you haven't read up on post WWII German instrument manufacturing, it's worth a Google or two.

Price? Idk...this example is pretty rough and that seems like a top end price for an excellent condition example
 
A lot of these weird German '60s German guitars are still pretty common around here, and often rather affordable too. I guess the folks who bought them back then are getting old now and just want to get rid of them.

I'd give this one a go out of curiosity but it's highly unlikely I'd buy it, unless of course it totally blew me away and it was somehow simply made for me.
 
If I had it, I’d keep it. For fun.

If I saw it for a smokin deal, I might buy it, if it played okay and/or had an interesting sound.
 
It’s a shit guitar. Just because it’s a German shit guitar doesn’t make it any better than $200 MIJ shit guitars. That price is insane.
