This is a limited edition 2007 Ibanez 20th Anniversary Steve Vai JEM Plexiglass guitar with the original hardshell case. This piece hails from a private collection of untouched and virtually unplayed pieces. With approx. 500 made (200 for U.S. distribution) this special piece is an homage to the 20 years of the Ibanez JEM Series (1987-2007). The body is acrylic with a handle cutout so as to make this 11lbs 11oz axe slightly more ergonomic. The guitar is illuminated by bright green lights that sit behind the bridge pick up and can be easily turned on/off with the Push/Pull tone knob. Electronically, DiMarzio created the TransJem pups exclusively for this piece and aimed to achieve optimum performance while being house in the guitar's acrylic body.

Must be these resin-based guitars are all heavy, because I've plinked on a couple of those Switch guitars (anyone remember them?) and those are very heavy too, and made out of a plastic compound resin of some sort.
