Gibson’s answer to the Fender custom from the early 70’s

No. And let me explain why.

On the Marauder design itself:
  • Neck pickup is way too far from the neck. It's more of a niddle pickup (or meck pickup, if you prefer)
  • Middle adjustment screw on neck pickup is useless.
On this guitar:
  • "Frets show wear, but still have life" - Your pics say otherwise. Add $250 to budget for a re-fret.
  • Pickguard actually has less life in it than the frets. Is there a screw hole on it that doesn't have a crack starting?
  • The Bowen Handle looks like a pot metal disaster.
  • How much longer before those wood seams in the headstock break off?
Overall, this guitar is pretty far from "excellent working condition". It's a project guitar in need of some serious work.

Disclaimer: I'm in the process of trying to buy a used truck. Thanks to this, I have developed a blistering hatred for people who lie about condition in ads.

After having a very positive experience with a Sonex that looks right up my alley
