i think the long hair thing has been going on for some time.
The Mullet King

well the mullet has....yes. I'm primarily thinking of the goofy long hair that jets out the side and makes it look like you're wearing a clown wig.

Mike Fiers' new beard defies description.

Considering he left the game due to nerve irritation in the 2nd, and shaved it off before the post-game press conference, I'm sad this will not become a thing in Oakland. Hilarity will not ensure further.

The Red Sox should be penalized, but there's an awful lot of this going on. I'm recalling the Cardinals (who, let's be honest, make sanctimony about 'the way to do things' a cornerstone of their franchise culture) flat out stealing the Astros' scouting files.

David Stern's recent death had the unintended result (for me) of diving down a rabbit hole of the Tim Donaghy scandal, and it's incredibly clear that NBA referees "managing the spread" was more widespread.

I guess once billions are involved, morals start taking a beating: a perfect reflection of our culture.

... and now they've been fired. Good.

Luhnow particularly tests the gag reflex, with his hardcore attack-dog mentality re: the whole sexual harassment thing.

And yet more:

"The Astros were also fined $5 million, the maximum allowed by the league, according to the Athletic. They must forfeit their first- and second-round picks in the 2020 and 2021 drafts, and ex-assistant Brandon Taubman, whose tirade directed at a female reporter resulted in his firing, has been placed on baseball’s ineligible list."

The loss of four - am I really reading this correctly? - picks is really going to hurt them. I actually think that's overdoing it.

maybe they're laying down the law and the Astro's are the example of how the penalties are going to to be levied?

Well, the good news is I'll be able to buy cheap seat tickets and sit in the pricey Field Box seats again since they'll suck for the next few years. We really enjoyed doing this before the fucking sunny day fans packed the ball park.
