alright. ya'll know i'm a sucker for the cheap ass guitars. well, here's the latest. seriously jacked up "relic" job. it a Johnson strat copy, so i wasn't expecting a lot from this one.

i wasn't dissapointed

this one is going to get a complete overhaul. i'm debating on whether or not to fill in the trem cavity and go hardtail. also thinking about moving the input jack.

there will be paint for sure. but i'm also considering another inlay project. here's the last one i did.

neck will be replaced, as well as the pickups and electronics.
i hope i'll be able to do everthing i need to do to this. i'll start sanding the body tomorrow.

let's just see where this one goes.

here's the last inlay i did

Know all those threads were someone replies "just get a cheap guitar to practice mods on"...?

This is that guitar!

Good luck on the rehab.

As long as the neck is halfway decent, the rest of it doesn't matter as much - you can do whatever you want to it :thu:

Good luck - $20 is not a bad starting point.

Jerry, where did you manage to find a beater for only $20 in this day and age? Turn it into a Billy Corgan Strat clone.

I was going to say "pre-relic'd" but it looks like I was beat to it

Should be a fun project to watch unfold....:thu:

after about 3 hours of sanding, this is where i'm at with this project!
