2014 Fender Custom Hot Rod
Hot on the heels of our cool pearloid Strats, we offer this awesome Tele! We're putting these mother of toilet seat hot rods together in our shop. You won't find them anywhere else! The centerpiece of the guitar is an awesome pearloid topped body. These are made of ultra light Paulownia wood, an interesting material that has the warmth of pine and snap of alder. The top is an awesome mother of toilet seat pearloid and is set off by white binding. The neck is a genuine 2006 Fender Standard Series Telecaster. It's made of maple and features a 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets. A string through "half-bridge" with 3 compensated saddles teams up with plastic button vintage style tuners. A Fender Hot ceramic magnet Tele bridge pickup teams up with a Tex Mex Tele pickup at the neck. They are hooked to a CRL 5 way switch and CTS pots for a variety of tones. The first 3 positions on the switch are traditional Tele switching, #4 is the neck pickup with a capacitor for a rolled off sound, and #5 is both pickups in series. This is a very useful arrangement that we use on all of our own home brew Teles here at the shop. The champagne pearloid top is set off by a black back and a white pearloid pickguard. Wild looks! Amazingly lightweight at just under 6lbs according to my scale! A really cool looking and sounding guitar!
These pearloid guitars we offer play and sound great. The modern C shaped neck is straight and the setup is very nice. The pickups sound great and the electronics offer a variety of options. This is a nice used guitar in EX condition. The guitar is clean and only shows some light scratches and indents. The nature of how the pearloid tops are finished means they can show some imperfections in the clearcoat. Nothing major but worth noting. A nice looking instrument. Comes in a gigbag.
