I have one of these, though mine as a lot more wear and tear. The hardtail is a more more stable with the 3-bolt neck.
1979 Fender Stratocaster Black Hardtail with Original Hardshell Case - LIGHT 7 Lbs!
The serial number is "S904809" which date it to 1979 and the neck has a 1979 date code. It's 100% original and the pickups have 1978 date codes. The pots date to July 1978 (137-7830).
The body is in good condition overall, but there are dings, scratches, and scuffs. Nothing out of the ordinary for a vintage guitar and no cracks or structural issues.
The neck is straight and the frets show moderate wear. It's in very good playing condition and there are no major issues. The fretboard and back of the neck are clean and have no major dings or worn areas. The headstock has some wear around the edges but no cracks, repairs or extra holes. The nut is 1.62" wide, the neck measures 0.91" thick at the 1st fret and 0.95" thick at the 12th fret.
The hardware and electronics are original and in excellent working condition. The pickups measure 5.74 Ω (Bridge), 5.69 Ω (Middle) and 5.87 Ω (Neck). It comes with the original case which has some general wear on the outside. All of the latches, hinges and handle are in excellent working order and the interior has no bad odors.
Actual weight for the guitar is only 7 lbs 6 oz! This is very light for a Strat from this era and most that you see are above 9 lbs.
