1964 Danelectro Convertible/Acoustic

1964 Danelectro Convertible acoustic - There guitars are very RARE ! Particularly in this condition. Amazingly good sound, very clean overall, all original. We believe this is the case the guitar was originally sold with.

i've never been attracted to any of the danelectro stuff.

The only Dano I have any real experience with was an old Sears model with lipsticks that belongs to an old friend, he has the amp in a case too, his first guitar way back in the day. It sounds great but has an almost classical neck, super wide and flat and only 12 frets to the solid plywood body. So it’s not really that fun to play even tho it’s well set up. Love the sound of the old lipsticks tho.
I’ve picked up a few reissue Danos over the years in various shops. None were ever set up well and they felt as cheap as they looked. I’m sure with a good set up they would be better but they just never appealed to me when I picked one up.

That one doesn’t even come with the best bit about em, the pickups.
No thanks.

I have a 63 reissue I paid $160 for and thought it a little to much but, got it to try a Dano. I have to say I like it for what it does but it definitely doesn’t do everything. While I like the look the price says oh hell no.

I believe that Howie owned one of the reissues. I am a Dano fan; they remind me of the years when I first started playing guitar and in bands. I like that they are light weight and very easy to play. I wouldn't expect this to have a good acoustic sound and wouldn't want this particular one, but would love to try one of the reissues some time.
