Super nice, and I would love to have it, if I didn't already have a Gibson Es-330.

I was pretty baffled by all the different versions of Casinos out there when I looked them up. There are definitely more reasonably priced options, but if you want a USA model it will cost you.

I might be mistaken, but I think the “Inspired By” line was the higher ticket import with USA appointments version of the limited run USA John Lennon Casino. Which were different than the Made in Japan Elitist Casinos. And the coveted MIK Casinos are essentially still available as the Peerless Songbird.

And I love that the seller references “Paperback Writer” and “Rain” because of the look of the guitar and the promo film because all signs point to those sessions being the one verifiable time that Lennon played his Gretsch in the studio. And Harrison likely played his SG which was his #1 at the time. McCartney—who was the real Casino partisan in the band—did probably play the lead hook to “Paperback Writer” on his Casino…but Gibson/Epiphone aren’t cashing in on his name here.

The seller definitely did not put much time and effort into that writeup. And may speak only limited English, in spite of their location.

For that kind of money I'd consider finding a good 330 instead. The Lennon association does nothing for me, in fact I'm afraid if I'd ever met him irl we would have had a set-to.

It's weird that it was inspired by Lennon, since it appears to be stock, and Lennon famously customized the casino's finish twice over. It's like selling the Hendrix Monterey Pop burned guitar, pre-fire. That's just a strat, bro.

Yes, sandpaper should be included!

Yeah, I'm not paying that for a Casino. If I were in the market for a spendy Casino I'd get the 'Dwight Trash' Casino, because I dig the gaudy White Falcon vibe. I expect to be in the minority with this one though. :embarrassed:

That white and gold combo sure lives up to the trash name

Ooh. It's not a 1:1 sub--there's definitely some gigs a Casino would be more visually appropriate for--but that is 110% my jam.

I'm with you. I dig it. The Lennon, not so much.

Nice guitar. Very overpriced. I would actually like a semi-hollow/hollow P90 at some point. This one would not be it though.
