Manufacturer: Chapman Stick
Model: SB8
Case: Hard
Color: Tarara
Condition: Near Mint
Description: This used bass is a U.S. handbuilt Chapman SB8 Stick Bass 8 string model that features the classic Stick body design made from Tarara wood and Paua Shell inlays on the fingerboard. This 8-string switchable stereo/mono output tapping instrument is favored by people who want to play bass parts. The fretboard is the same width as the original Stick, with a wider string spacing because it has fewer strings. The bass features 8-string bass tuning with open notes from very low B, going up in straight fourths to E, A, D, G®, C, F and highest Bb. The SB8 is equipped with "The Block" which holds a pair of active EMG stacked double coil pickups. They are hum canceling in design but because of their short and narrow dimensions they have the laser pure sound of early Fender® single coil pickups. The highs are cutting, yet carry weight, and the lows are musically rich and pronounced. This bass is in near mint condition, comes with a flight case, gigbag and stereo cord.

$1499

I have zero interest in this. The Chapman Stick seems to attract an odd group of musicians.

blargh. The only time I hear people playing one of those things is at the NAMM show every year.

* braces self for horrid versions of Beatles songs played by balding men wearing fanny packs *

:) I know Tony Levin is bald, but I don't ever recall pics of him wearing a fanny pack. (Although, I really don't keep track of his comings and goings, either.)

if he was the one playing those things at NAMM it would be a different story.

When I saw Peter Gabriel live Levin played one of those for several songs in the show. Kind of cool I guess.

LOL! Balding men with pony tails? Fanny packs on the front? Are they wearing Birkenstocks? (not that there is anything necessarily wrong with that). No interest in this, even if it did not have a "zealous" following.

I'd love to try one. I dunno if it's something I could make regular use of, but I'm sure I could find a trick or two in it.

Of course I want it... I could have lots of creative fun with that, even if I am balding... Don't worry, though, I won't be playing any of that Beatles crap...

I saw Tony Levin with Adrien Belew a few months back. He played his the entire show. Sounded cool. He can have it. Not for me.
