Description: These Showcase Edition guitars were made in 9 different models and were actually produced by the Gibson Custom Shop in 1988. They were limited to 200 examples of each guitar and 400 of the last model produced (that particular one is unknown to us at this time). This Chet Atkins CE HSB is one of those special models and a unique guitar unto itself. As a classical electric, it retains the feel of a classical guitar while allowing the player to use it in a live, amplified setting. The tone is warm and round, but this is not your average, bright sounding acoustic/ electric guitar. The application would still be that of a classical guitar- if you want to play "Red Solo Cup" in a Country band, you might want to check out the Takamine Steve Wariner we have. This guitar is a little more special and as usual around here, a limited edition piece.

I don't mind the look, but this guitar has such a specialized application that most players would never need it. Every classical guitarist I've ever seen has used a traditional acoustic. Even Willie Nelson doesn't need it.
 
I LOVE nylons, but I cannot stand thin-bodied acoustics. Like, they legitimately upset me. I mean, I know it's meant to be plugged in and all that, but still. It's like a diet instrument without the health benefits.
