Suhr Custom Standard Archtop Burl Maple

Feast your eyes on this extremely 3D and wildly complex Burl Maple top that we hand picked at the Suhr factory! This killer tonewood combination not only gives this instrument an amazingly warm and pleasant resonance, but it looks absolutely stunning in a sea of otherwise commonplace designs. Check out the wood grain in the photos below, we were totally blown away when we unboxed it. The sustain and tone is easily translated to a full, harmonically-rich sound thanks to Suhr's incredibly versatile pickups. And don't be put off by the semi-hollowbody design, when cranked to full volume, this guitar absolutely screams and is more than capable of handling higher gain structures. Although a hollowbody build of any sort often produces unwanted overtones and feedback, this Suhr will remain feedback free - even when you've got overdrive on and the knobs rolled up to "11!"

While not my favorite from Suhr, it sure isn't close to my least favorite. I like the neck the most.

Wouldn't buy it, but the specs are sweet. Would love to this treatment applied to a Tele, but replacing the bridge pup with a Tele-bridge pup and having a maple board (and possibly maple neck as a result).

That it's a high quality, beautiful build is unquestioned. It's a Suhr afterall. And I'd even go so far as to say it probably sounds wonderful. But it's just not the kind of machine I'd use.

Suhr makes some really really nice guitars. For some uncanny reason unlike some of my friends, never wanted one.
