Supro Dwight Belmont 1962

Very clean all original Dwight Belmont. No bubbling and the original covering is in amazing condition. Plays good and this guitar has basically never been used. Original hard case in great shape. The pickup sounds awesome but is missing the original pickup ring somehow. Everything else is perfect and to die for. Classic supro tone and feel. You will not find a cleaner one!!

Who would buy that, and why?

Looks like a complete POS. I would say kill it with fire, but the body may just smolder and produce noxious chemicals.

Pass.

Never seen one before. Would have to just check it out, and try to get past the old yellowed plastic thing to see what it was about.

I've seen pictures of Ry Colder playing one similar to it...it would make a great slide guitar, were it not the color of strawberry daqeri puke...

Edit: how the fuck do you spell daqueri?

I like it alright. I might hit it if the price was right.

Edit- which would be about 1/4 the asking price.

I'm trying desperately to find something positive to say about that guitar, and the truth is, I've got nothing. idn_smilie

It's a prime example of the "but it's old, it must be worth megabux" line of thought. I think we, as guitarists, have done much to perpetuate this meme...

That's a re-branded Supro. I'm sure that like a lot of them, it's overpriced for its beat-up condition. It's too bad, while the pickup looks like a humbucker, it isn't, and do those pickups scream when you do overdriven tones.
