Is this winter starting to get long for everyone else??

Hell, we got our first rain of the season on Sunday. we need t least 6 more weeks of real winter here.

No. We have had so little snow that it has hardly seemed like winter. We are getting some now, and did a few days ago. I hope it means we are getting in a pattern for regular snow for a while.
I'm going snowboarding next weekend. I'm a proficient skier, but this will be my first attempt at a board. Wish me luck.

I got home from work at 4:30. Just finished with the driveway at 7 :(
Tuesday night through Wednesday we are supposed to get 1/4 inch of ice then a bunch of snow on top of it. Great fun.

Starting?

10" of snow is coming tomorrow night. I'm likely to snap at any moment.

yes....and this will be the second snow of february, we got about 2 inches saturday night/sunday.

what did we got for january alone? 32+ inches.

we're at about 40+ inches for the winter, so far.

holy crap....i just watched a show on PBS about plowing thru the snow by the railroads up thru the sierra mountains....and it was about a blizzard in march 2011 where the regular locomotive plows got stuck, and they had to get out the "rotaries".
holy shit....you talk about snow......took them over 36 hours to plow thru 40 miles. 130" of snow to plow thru.

cool show tho.

We currently sit at 59.1" of snow. The current winter total snowfall record is 73.1" in 1978. We could be at 70" Wednesday morning.
:vomit:

@mongooz I just checked, the official total for January was 40.2" of snow. A new record. The old record was 30.8" in 1978.

The sixth coldest January on record with an average temperature of 16 degrees.

noshit??....i was just talking to a UPS driver at Taco Bell a few hours ago, and he said the january total was 40-somthing....and i didn't think he had it right. but i guess he DID.

i don't think February is gonna be a lot different than january, except maybe a little easier on the temps. but i see similar snow falls.

I am in Phoenix right now. What is this Winter you are talking about ?

well, they're calling for 6 to 10 over night.....again.
our pansy ass county sheriff has already called a Level 2 snow emergency....that means if you're out driving, you can be ticketed or arrested. we wont have a single snow flake for another 2 hours. last time, right after new years, the asshole kept us at level 3 for 3 days. businesses in the county lost MILLIONS.

i hope this asshole enjoys his term as sheriff....it will be his ONLY one.

(btw....no other county in norther ohio have ANY levels up right now)

We are supposed to get between a 1/4 inch and a half inch of ice starting around midnight. Work doesn't open till 10am tomorrow if it opens at all. Hoping the power stays on, which it usually does for us since we are on the same run as the hospital.
