Words that you absolutely cannot stand to hear

Not so much words for me but phrases.

Five year anniversary. (Unless you are indeed speaking of the anniversary of a certain year.) The correct phrase is "Fifth anniversary."

Any corporate speak mumbo jumbo phrases intended to make some dipshit middle manager look smart. "Leverage your synergies" comes to mind.
 
And I don't mind so much reading it. It's when someone is talking to you and uses it as part of their vernacular.

Yea. Add hater, tweet, growth, any corporate speak bulkshit.
 
Not really a word as much as the absolutely meaningless business school platitudes that only get used by people who don't know anything else.

I worked for a company a few years back that was having trouble financially. The owner held a meeting in which he unveiled his plan to save the company. It was more or less just "sell more stuff" and "raise our prices" couched in these completely meaningless phrases that he learned at some point.
 
"Life Hack" (Why not just say "good idea"?)

I'm starting to see this term creep into the corporate vernacular now. It's painful (particularly when used to leverage synergies).

NOTHING irritates me more than hearing all that business-book catchphrase bullshit.

I know it's an actual "technique" (although one of many that have duped companies out of millions over the years), but:

"Six Sigma".

Even worse, someone who is a "Six Sigma ____ Belt". :annoyed:
