I'm the kind of person that can get "evangelical" about products that I like...I try to be realistic about where I plug them but it even comes down to me checking in and posting pics of local mom and pop restaurants on FB too.

Yeah Mark needs to change his name to Suhr but I believe Sir will do just fine. I do agree with you though as Rev does talk about Reverends and they are great guitars. Never tried before until Pragestock and they are good. Played Mark's Suhrs too, good stuff. However Mark with the Hyundai, not quite yet dude as you do drive a Chevy Truck and Suburban. Where's the Hyundai?
 
My wife drives a sonata. I'm getting either a Santa fe or a hatchback Elantra at some point this year.

I have a batch of Kens pickups here and I don't feel like they are what I am looking for. I feel the same about Bryans pickups even though I love the Pure 90's in my other Les Paul. Its not about any kind of brand loyalty as much as I feel like this particular instrument needs the right match. Just like as much as I love Suhr pickups and have them in most of my guitars I don't feel that they are right for this instrument either. I am really thinking that a Duncan 59 or antiquity will be the way to go but I'm interested in hearing what everyone has to suggest.

that's my point, have them wind you what you want...

i guess i just don't understand why so many people would rather have something off the shelf and a completely impersonal experience instead of getting exactly what you want:shrug:

all just my opinion of course, please don't take it as me being pushy or dickish... i just don't understand is all:confused:

pickups don't need to be personalized. It would be like me having custom tone blocks made for a strat bridge. there is something out there ON the shelf that will do the job just fine and I can get back to playing the guitar. I like things to be a certain way but I'm not going to order custom wound pickups, spend a couple of months or weeks waiting for them and hope that is what I want. I know for certain that I like BG's Pure 90's (for some things) but I don't think his humbuckers (for example) fit my aesthetic. I have played Modern Saints Les Paul Standard (nearly the same year as mine) with the DUncan '59s in it and that was a great sound.

Sadly I spoke to my vendor for Duncan pickusp and I can get EVERYTHING Duncan makes except for the'59 through them for cost :mad:

nothing like personalized tone blocks:lol:... and Ken has a 1 week turn around time, even less for fellow Californians i'm sure... again though, just my feelings on it... you obviously know what you want, it sucks you can't get it at cost though...
